Inspire provide a wide range of services for people with learning disabilities and additional support needs throughout the North-east of Scotland. Working with the vision of empowering the life choices of the people we support, our services include 24-hour support, visiting support, skills development in relation to employment, respite care and innovative day opportunities.
Opportunities have arisen to join our team at our service located in Ellon. Our services support individuals in a shared living environment, individuals have their own bedrooms but the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas are all shared.
A typical morning would involve prompting individuals to get up, staff support with personal care which can include showering & bathing. Staff support with helping the people we support make and eat at meal times, we do have one individual who is peg fed, this means they cannot eat food orally.
Administering medication, finances and cleaning are daily responsibilities for support staff. The people we support enjoy arts and crafts, going to social events such as bingo & discos, walking, sports activities and cooking & baking.
Some of the challenges the people we support face include mobility issues, diabetes, hearing loss, poor eyesight, epilepsy & mental health support.
Inspire offer a fantastic induction and training matrix’s tailored to our service needs which is available to all our staff and require mandatory participation. This post involves shift work to meet the needs of the service. Sleepovers are also mandatory for this role.
